My great, great grandfather, Pieter Wellim Jordaan was born in 1823 on our farm Berouw, just outside Utrecht. I was born in the Niemeyer Memorial Hospital in 1949. My grandmother Dolly Jordaan, bought a house in the town after my grandfather passed away in 1950. This house was later named The Uys House. My father then carried on farming. We all moved to Pretoria when he passed away in 1967. Utrecht will always have a special place in my heart.
